If you need a Escrow Service to purchase a watch you are buying from the wrong seller.

Between two decent merchants there shouldn't really be a need for an Escrow service... Plenty of good sellers here, and buyers too.

I’d Be interested to know if anyone experienced using an Escrow service and it worked out saving the day.
To me it’d make sense for really big transactions ie a 20k watch even if the seller has great reviews. |

I've never bought a used watch that originally retailed for over $12,000 so if I got scammed I could live with it, but I get that people who buy and sell watches in precious metals etc in the many thousands of dollars would be pretty nervous. I think the most I've paid is around 8 thousand. I've bought and sold at least 25 watches used from individuals on ebay and other places just by trust and communication. But it's still a scary proposition.
Sometimes you find a watch that is rare and not readily available and you want to pull the trigger on it. The only escrow I've used is the escrow on Chrono 24 and that worked fine for a few watches I bought from Europe. My advice is, if it ain't rare and you're nervous, keep looking for a reputable dealer. And if it is rare, good luck.
