When the parachrom was first introduced in the cal 4130 in 2000 then it was more of a grey colour. Now by some artificial chemical process and oxidation its now a blue colour but proper blued springs and screws take real skill by the watchmaker.

What do you mean by 'artificial'? My understanding is that oxidation plays a role, but not sure what part of the process is artificial (understanding that the traditional heat bluing process isn't used).

According to Rolex, this process adds stability to the hairspring.

OP, great pic. Thanks for sharing.

Love this video about parachrom. Maybe it's because of the ending shot?

That's beautiful.

On a side note...

A recent conversation I had with my watchmaker, he said the ETA hairsprings are now impossible to get and only the Chinese made versions are available and they're not reliable. Not sure how valid this is but he expressed his disappointment vehemently with the industry and that companies like Rolex who still make their movements in house is the only guarantee that your getting unparalleled movement. It almost sounded like he's about to give up servicing ETA movement. So kudos to Rolex.
