Which sub to wear with tuxedo ?

I am wearing a black tux tonight---

Should I go with black ceramic sub ?
WG Smurf ?
Or DSSD ?

On another note--I can't find my black cummerbund so I think I will wear the tuxedo without a cummerbund--is this ok ?

Or some say no watch at all is proper. If you must, a pocket watch. All that being said, I wear a Sub, GMT, Exp, etc. and don't care.

On the cummerbund, you should wear one or a waistcoat. But if you don't have one, just keep your top button fastened. Chances are that no one will motice. Provided that your circumference allows that.

Who cares about what is proper wear the WG Sub! Nobody will see it anyway and you will be only one who likely knows it is there. So when you look down and pull your cuff back you can enjoy that smurf blue dial smiling back at you!

If I had another choice other than subs than maybe, but only subs...

I am 5'10" 175 lbs so not too heavy if I go without cummerbund I guess.
Would it be such a fashion faux pax if during the course of the night I u buttoned the jacket---and no cummerbund beneath ?

I'd wear the smurf. It will stand out nicely against the black tux and the white gold will look nice and clean.

Modern tux's do not include a cumberbund. I just wore a Hugo Boss tux to an event with a black tie, no bow tie, and no cumberbund. I was not the only person there dressed that way. I also wore my 16710 coke gmt. Wear what you like with confidence and don't believe you have to follow all the rules. I'd go with the black ceramic sub btw!

I once was part of a dinner engagement with His Grace, the Duke of Westminster, and when he commented on how I should perhaps not be wearing a watch at all with my Dinner Jacket I slapped the rus clot upside the head and stormed out. His behaviour was perfectly unforgivable.

I do have a 16800. Dad gave it to me as a birthday present 27 years ago.

He's gone now, I still have the watch, but prefer the black ceramic

Depends on the event I guess. The black tie affair I attended last November ended with jackets and ties discarded and women kicking off the heels and jamming the dance floor. But I'm pretty sure most don't end like that. And I wore the sub.

This. A nice vintage Omega or Hamilton will work too. Unless you fantasize about being a British spy driving an Aston Martin, leave the Sub home!!!

With those choices I would go without a watch at all. If you do a lot of black tie I would look for something like a vintage Omega or JLC Reverso on a black croc strap. Shouldn't cost a fortune and would be great for when you wear a suit & tie for business.

There's some people who think none of those watches go with a tux (should only wear with a thin dress watch) but I've seen plenty of people wear stainless steel watches with their tux including numerous celebrities at the Oscars. Of those choices though I would probably go with ceramic sub. I don't have a dress watch but I'm thinking about getting a vintage datejust and putting a croc strap on it (also looking at vintage Omega or JLC Master Control / Reverso)... hopefully one day a Calatrava.

I have worn my Sub or my SMP to stuffy corporate events, and no one cared. If anything, I got compliments on the Rolex. However, just because some people do it, doesn't mean you should. My boss wears black shoes with a brown belt and sees nothing wrong with it.

No cummerbund is fine in fact let it stay lost - No watch is appropriate but if you must I would go precious metal. Steel sub and tux? It really is ok today kind of like ditching the cummerbund...... hey, you will be better dressed than bond - he wears an omega with his.
