I've had four of his straps
one didn't hold up very well, one I gave away, and the two I have left are pretty good.
BUT, I prefer the Zeugma straps at this point.

I see a lot of his strap models are sold out.
One thing (although there are many) I have no idea about is the retaining loops. Is it better to have 1 or 2, free floating or fixed. I remember long ago these loops sliding up and down and not effectively retaining the strap, are there any tricks or secrets to retaining loops and their usage?

After many attempts to get a Panerai and a lot of searching I'm getting one (I hope it gets here) the clue is it is a "J" model (2007) and it is number 281 of 500 so that should narrow it down for you guys to figure it out.

1 0r 2, personal preference.
What I find, is with the thicker straps, firstly, the keepers should NOT be sewn in. With thick leather, and a sewn in keeper, you have to really bend the tail to get it in.
I prefer 2 keepers. One , snugs right up to the buckle, the other holds the tail.
With one wider keeper, IMO, it just doesn't feel right.
BUT I do have single , wider keepers on some straps.

Now, Nuri ( Zeugma) will custom make you a strap. Prices are about the same. I have about a 7" wrist, and I find a 130x75mm strap works great. Hole placement is always an issue, but I haven't had any issues with were they go. If it is snug, the leather will stretch.

However, there are more in 500 production # in 2007 besides 177: 210, 220, 286... Either one, congrat!

Totally agree with John, Zeugma is one of the best as well. Contact Nuri and he'll hook you up with good stuff. The leather is very soft.

It is truely amazing just how many straps there are out there, totally mind boggling.
I am getting titanium so I feel that the lighter coloured straps would present a good contrast, together with dark coloured stitching so that it doesn't look too casual.
