RO chrono Or WG Sub
I have a special birthday coming up (30) and I'm looking for a timeless piece that will age well, the main contenders are the WG Sub and the Royal Oak Chrono 41mm steel 26320 with white dial
I love both pieces and hope to one day own both - although for now I'm leaning towards the AP I have a few special pieces (ROO & RG SkyDweller) but I'm looking for something semi-discreet that can be worn in meetings. It must also be a piece that will not date as I will keep it forever I have also considered the IWC Porto perpetual but it may be too similar a style of occasion watch to the SkyD Any help or thoughts would be appreciated! |

I had the opportunity to try the AP on in the white dial last week in Las Vegas and I was blown away. It is far nicer in person and wears very well with a clean/classic presence. I can honestly say it was one of the nicest watches I have ever put on my wrist. I already own a IWC 5001-07, with blue hands/markers and I have really enjoyed that "one" watch with a white dial. The sales person did not have the AP in the black dial and he said it is very stunning as well. I personally believe that AP can be dressed up with a nice suit or a causal pair of jeans. Very versatile. I would be happy with the black or white dial in reality and I think you would have an excellent forever timepiece. Rolex's are great. Whats not to like about them right. So many people have them which is fine too. However, that AP is truly a winner. Watch enthusiasts will know what that AP is. Good Luck!

Semi discrete, worn in meetings and will not date?

Thanks!
Probably worth mentioning that I already have a SubCLV (which would be traded in against the WG Sub or kept for now alongside the AP) |

Out of those the sub. But I'd take the jumbo over both of the ones you mentioned.

I think I will go Sub, durabilty and reliability is a must if its a forever piece, not saying AP dosent have it but I think the sub has it a little more.

The AP for aesthetics and HH value. The Sub for durability and robustness.

Rukshan said it, for the price ROC. You'll save $$ and will love the AP. I sold mine in white and am looking to repurchase. The RG ROC is off the charts IMO, but maybe a bit much in terms of wrist presence.

Very tough call. I'm going for the WG Sub only for re-sale value. But if you intend to keep, flip a coin. Good luck in your choice.

I dunno....they are both incredible. But, discrete at work? No. There are much better choices.
EDIT: just saw your point about the LVc. Zero doubt as to ROC + LVc > WG Sub. |

I'd go with the Sub if i'd have to choose between the two but it wouldn't be the discrete choice, if you want that i'd go with the AP.

AP ROC all the way. I'd keep your sub and just add the AP ROC to your collection. One of the most comfortable bracelets I have ever worn and a stunning piece.
Good luck with your decision. |

A great dilemma to be in.
Second the ROC + LV option. Then down the track you can sell the LV, get the smurf and have both grails. The AP is a bit more discreet. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

WG Sub Date in this case, but would prefer the old style ROC to the new one, anyway.
