Vacheron service and replacements
Hi guys
In case anyone is wondering at some point if they're looking at a vacheron overseas.... Price ref for the 1st generation VC OS service is around £850 basic service and £2100 for a replacement bracelet. It's a lot of cash, esp for the bracelet BUT even though a full service and replacement parts is being asked for £5200 it seems a shame to put a gorgeous watch down. One side of me thinks that amount of money is ridiculous. It could buy me a BNIB submariner. But If I were to do that.. I would essentially be binning an amazing watch. It's not the modern model. It's not flash. But if it has sentimental value I don't think I have a choice... |

I had a very expensive service on a VC overseas, one that had not been abused, and the bill was unjustifiable IMO. Killed my connection is the the watch so I just sold it after returning from service. That was the turning point where I started to really take servicing cost into the purchasing decision.
It is certainly a beautiful watch though. |

WOW, that is expensive! I was looking at the VC OS when I bought my AP RO and it's a stunner. The math doesn't quite work for me though. £850 + £2100 = £2950 last time I checked. But you did say "basic" service versus "full" service. Can you provide more info on the difference?

Very expensive indeed but I wonder how different it is from other brands like AP, PP or JLC. I know Rolex and Omega are usually a tad cheaper to service but it's not quite the same type of watches even if we compare them to the OS, RO or Nautilus.

That's quite expensive. Definitely another league comparing to other luxury watches ..
Do you get the parts that they replaced back? I still don't get why Rolex is keeping the parts that I paid for after the watch has been serviced?

£5200!!!!!!
Take a class for that much and fix it yourself! That is a crazy #, sounds like run over by a truck price to fix? Reminds of a friends story (true), he was at a casino bar when he was approached by a women who whispered an offer for her services...he countered with "for that price, he would study yoga and do it himself"
