An awesome looking watch in my opinion, but which one is the more desirable. The US version looks great (and there were only 359 of them made) and the Euro version looks great in a different way (but there were 959 pieces made).

I have an opportunity to buy one of these. I like them both for different reasons, but wonder if 359 vs 959 pieces should sway the decision for me. In other words, is the relative "rarity value" of the US version worth taking into consideration?

I suspect there's no correct answer, but I'm interested in knowing what you guys think anyway.

Euro version on the left, US version on the right.

I have owned both at one point, and truth be told, if I was collecting, I would keep both. They are similar, yet different enough to have individual appeal.
As far as numbers - both are small enough production, so the 600 pieces difference should not be weighed as a variable. Get whichever dial you like best.

Awesome looking watch. I prefer look of euro version. Not sure how the relative rarity factors in. I also don't think these are ultra hard to source as I have seen them come up fairly often.

I'd be buying it to wear occasionally, as opposed to collecting. I like both dials for different reasons. I like the clean look of the Euro; I like the somewhat more industrial appearance of the US version; I dislike the "Deep Sea Alarm Automatic" script on the US version. Not an easy choice for me.

I've been looking for a previously loved one (euro version) for a while, and barely missed a couple here on TRF. I prefer the clean dial. If you end up getting the US version, I'd appreciate it if you pm me with the info on the euro.

Either one would be an excellent choice.

If I were to buy one of them, I'd go with the Euro version. (Then buy the American one once you have more funds.)

Do not fret about the numbers, as between two models you still have fewer than 2,000 watches. I travel around the world a lot and I have yet to see one in the wild. Compared to Rolex, Omega, AP, Panerai and the other usual suspects, these are rare birds indeed.

If you are looking for a brand new Euro version from an AD, please let me know. I know a place that has one in stock. Brand new, with all the wrappers in tact.

I've really enjoyed mine, it's in a regular rotation with a few other watches. I get the appeal of the Euro dial, but the US dial grabbed me when I first saw it and I went with it.

Of the two, the Euro version hands down, but personally I'd go for the chrono to bypass the fake patina.

Tough choice. Both are great. Slight edge to the Euro, but I'd be thrilled with either.

I really like both models! You should pick the one you like first, then think about getting the other! That is why I have not bought one yet, I can not choose.

I agree, but to make matters worse, I also like the Omega Dark Side of the Moon -- a lot -- even though it's totally different from the JLC. I cannot afford both, so I have to choose one for now. So it'll either be the Omega or the JLC Euro.

Went with the Euro only because couldn't quite get used to seeing the dial move (maybe not a good description) along with the bezel on the US version . . .
