FS - Chopard Mille Miglia chronograph

Up for sale is my Chopard Mille Miglia chronograph, model 16/8407. It was bought brand new from Wempe NY in May 2005. This is the limited edition model from 2000. It comes with both inner and outer boxes and full papers: one-year Chopard guarantee and 3-year Wempe warranty.

Here are the specifics:

Case
40mm brushed titanium case in very good condition with no noticeable dings or scratches. The case back has 2-3 very minor hairline scratches.
The winding crown is signed LUC. The case is waterproof to 50m/165ft.
The see-through case back, protected by sapphire crystal, displays the movement. The front crystal is sapphire, anti-glareproof.

Movement
The 2894/2 ETA automatic movement has been modified by Chopard and the watch is classed as a Certified Chronometer, running well within COSC specs.

Dial
The carbon-fibre dial looks great and with the tyre tread strap makes the watch a proper racing chronograph. The three white sub dials displaying Hours, Minutes and Seconds are extremely legible and it is a pleasure to use the chrono function. It also has the date function between 4 and 5 o'clock.

Strap
One of the famous features of the Mille Miglia is the 'tyre tread' rubber strap, designed to resemble the Dunlop racing tyres of the 1960's.

I'm selling at GBP £1150 which includes insured shipping within the UK.

Payment by bank wire only please.

I have references on Paneristi.com and have also met a few TRF folks, who can vouch for me (if I come up with enough cheese!)

If you have any queries please PM me.

Cheers

Shane

This is the best-looking of the Chopard MM watches. The dial is very easy to read.

The first time I met Shane, he had just gotten this watch. He offers it at a good price, and it should find a good home.

I'll only vouch for him if he comes up with enough mushy peas.

And if he picks better restaurants than an American hamburger joint in London for lunch.
