A friend of mine raised an interesting question this weekend. Is it technically possible to swap the dial of a 116520 to a 116509?

He just like the dial and apparently able to source one and don't really care about the white cold element.

Yes, fairly common. Just get the dial and send it to a competent watchmaker.

Sourcing an authentic one is the key. Just remember some of the iconic dials are often replicated by dial customizers.

people have it done a lot. pitfalls are not a real dial, need a good watch maker, and Rolex won't deal with the watch unless it is in its original condition if it is to be sent in for service

otherwise your watch to do as you wish, post some before and after pics!
