50th Anniversary Submariner or GMT Master II????

I am interested to know what most men would like best between these two - I am not a Rolex expert - and I think they are both beautiful in their own way... which one holds the most prestige? - or value? - so to speak???? thank you!!!! need to choose between the two asap, so any advice would be so helpful.

It's a matter of taste and personal preference. I have owned both models, but I for my part would prefer the Sub Date LV. At least to me, the SS GMT IIc turned out to be too blingy for my liking.

Yes, the new GMT IIc has a very nice updated bracelet with solid centre links and (socalled) "improved" clasp but I just like the OLD Oyster bracelet better, despite it having the old-style clasp on non-solid centre links. The old Oyster bracelet is proven by time and is a very well-made bracelet, indeed.

The ceramic bezel might be cool, too, but still I for my part prefer the old-style anodized Alumium bezel insert to the ceramic one. IF you damage the ceramic bezel insert, you would also have to pay a lot to have it exchange for a new one. A complete ceramic bezel including insert costs a wopping 1,324 US $ and the ceramic bezel INSERT on its own costs US $ 734! Unlike the old-style bezel insert which can be exchanged for around 50 US $.

But I suggest you try them both on and go for the one that appeals most to you. You cannot go wrong with either!

The GMT costs $6800 and the Sub LV (anniversary) is $6225. Seriously they are both great watches. If you prefer the way one looks over the other one than get it. If you are buying it for someone other than youself, I am sure they would like either one. But if you are still unsure then perhaps you should ask that person.

Personally, I would be elated if someone would give me either one of those watches.

I would go with the LV Sub. I don't care for the new GMTIIc but I do like the now discontinued model.

Tough choice for me, I'm not too wild about Rolex's redesign with the ceramic bezel on the GMT, and I still don't know what the hell Rolex was thinking with that green bezel on the Sub. (sorry LV owners, I just don't like it). Having said that if I had to choose I would go with the GMT.

I say GMT-IIc. It is every bit as usable as the sub and then some. They both have dates and more water resistance than anyone would need. BUT, the GMT also has the 24 hour hand and just enough bling. Its like a cross between a sub and SS daytona!

Both are great choices. However, I think the "better" one to pick is the GMT II because of it's updated case and enhanced bracelet. Right now it is a hot item and slightly harder to find. For right now, I would rate it as the best choice.

I voted Submariner, but didn't see the two watches. Between the GREEN Submariner and the GMT2C, I would change my vote to the latter, as it is more versatile with wardrobe, IMO. Oh, and welcome to TRF. There are some great guys and gals here!

I had the same two when making my choice. I went to the AD and the GMT won the smile test. The green sub would be a great second watch for me but the GMT was my first.

Now that I have the bug. I am either going for the white dial explorer II or the SS Daytona that I am on the list for.

ok.....well, this isn't about me I guess..........BUT.....there is no way I could chose between the two. I think if I had both in front of me....my head would blow up....then I'd probably grab the GMT....no no.... the LV....uhh wait... the GMT........yeah the GMT.

IMHO, the LV Sub is a second rolex to add to your collection. if it's strictly between the two I would go with the GMTII-c, which is more versatile.
