Vintage Tudor day date

hey guys!

so... yea i'm looking for a tudor day date and i'll be upfront and say that i know very little about tudor/rolex in general other than their price tags. haha..

i'm really interested in learning about specifically the tudor day dates as a starting point for my hobby as i'm carefully on the look out for one and would love to hear your thoughts on them, any "special" information i should know about buying a vintage one, etc.

i'm really interested in the ref. 7017 and would love to know any particular things about it that i should know as an enthusiast.

thanks guys!

search here for the reference and you can learn alot in very little time. I usually search ebay completed lisitings to learn market values. I like and have considered a Tudor dd often - but ended up buying a 1601 to fit the need - enjoy the hunt.

Got mine a couple of weeks ago, and the honeymoon period goes on. These watches have a massive bang-for-buck factor, and go well with a variety of leather straps. It's hard to tire of a Tudor Date-Day!

As with any vintage, conventional wisdom says you should look for a thick unpolished case and all original parts. That said, a lot of these are from the late 60s and early 70s, so such an ideal is becoming harder and harder to find.

If you find one from a trusted seller and it sings to you, buy and enjoy!

The ss Jumbo DD's & DS's are another example of Tudor offering a bit more options than the mother brand was willing to.

Here's my early [denoted by the dial] 7020/0 w/ rare rotating bezel.

Delightful, dP!

Gnod, mine's a 7017 model bought from a dealer in Tokyo. They might crop up on this site's sales section every so often, so keep searching. Chrono 24 is another good source. Good luck!
