"Some day, when all this is over, I'll personally pick one out for you, JJ!!"
Well, no two guesses as to who said those lovely words to me!!!
My beloved wife, Zemina!! We were just the two of us sitting in the comfort of our newly refurbished home and having a bit of a chat. She said to me how much she appreciated the fact that I got rid of Bluesy to muster up some extra cash for the forth coming pay-outs.....and she also knew how much I loved that watch. She saw the look of sadness on my face.....and that's when she blurted out those words.....adding: "Don't worry, maybe there's something better in store for you......when the time is ripe, we'll go together to Mansor's and pick out something that's as beautiful as Platty....or even better. And, NO, you will NOT sell Platty!!" Only time will tell!!

That's great to hear. You're lucky to have Zemina, my friend. Good things happen to good people, your turn is almost coming.

JJ, Zemina rang me, you got it wrong, what she meant was, the two of you could go to Mansors and you could look at Cleaveage without seeing if Zemina was around. a free for all, so to speak.
Thats what she meant my friend by not having to sell platty if she caught you.

JJ
I have always thought a happy Zemima is worth 1000 Bluesy's. This proves it. I respect the choice you made as even I (as a newbie) knew how much you loved that watch. I often get a strange mixture of emotions ranging from jealousy to happiness when I see fellow members post their new/vintage subs/daytonas/gmts etc. Reading your posts lately are the only time I have felt pride reading an internet forum, reinforcing my own principles. After all they are just watches!!!!! Kudos pal. You're a great couple and something for all us younger married folk to aspire to. J |

JJ, You have had experience with many Rolex watches - So what would Zemina pick out for you? I have worn many Rolex watches "vicariously" through the members here and I have learned to appreciate watches that I previously would not have considered owning. Sean

Knowing how much you adore the "noble metal", maybe she'll pick the Platinum DD. That would solve your 36mm bias because in 40mm you could'nt lift it! That watch could always be sold in the future to pay for a whole new house. It's a retirement portfolio on the wrist!

That's sweet JJ and very understanding of her.
You sound like a very happy couple, and you did the right thing! We all love watches but family matters and making the wifey happy should always come first. like you stated in another thread the watches will always be there at the AD's ready to be snatched up!

JJ, everything becomes secondary,
to having your wife say something so profound and so dear. There is certainly another, or more Rolexes in your future, but nothing as important as that conversation. Remember what a lucky man you really are!

That is great to hear from your wife! Good luck, but I think you already have a heck of a Rolex in platty.
