Mid Size DJs
Hi My wife thinks she wants a mid size 31mm bicolour DJ , can anyone advise on discounts this I believe is sort of a money pit , Don't they really lose lots of money , If they lose lots it makes me determined to buy it at the very best price either US or EU , What discounts can I expect on a mid size thanks in advance

I bought my wife a used 31mm DJ in 07, and it has appreciated while my matching 36mm is worth about the same as when I bought it. I think this is mainly due to demand for 31mm size as a ladies watch. I don't see this trend reversing back to the 26mm anytime soon, and even if it did there are a lot of 26mm on the secondary market. Rolex is even marketing 36mm DJ for ladies too.
There seem to be good deals on the 34mm Date. |

Try to talk her into a 36mm... Go to jeweler and have her try one on.
Much better residual. |

Ladies' Rolexes often don't have good resale values, probably because the demand isn't there relative to men's watches.
Furthermore, it is becoming more difficult to get a discount on a 31mm model these days because of the trend towards larger sizes. ADs are generally much more flexible with the 26mm models in terms of pricing. In terms of the actual discount, I'd say aim for something similar +/- 5-10% on what you'd expect on a men's model in the UK. |

Get her what she wants. It is an investment in what she is going to wear now and in the future. My wife wanted a no-date so it would be smaller. I got a nice one, which she really liked, from Tempoking here on the forum, at a price I liked.

I bought my mother a mid sized DJ a year or so ago from DavidSW NIB, I would reach out to him.
I didn't concern myself with any resale being that it won't be sold or traded in. Beautiful watch, and a great size for a woman. |
