Bugatti Veyron owner faces 20 years in prison
I have watched the video in this article many times and I've always wondered how on Earth something like this could happen, but it almost always appears in compilations or collections where there are videos of many people driving cars that are beyond their skill level.
Well, now we know what really happened. https://autos.yahoo.com/blogs/motora...131558950.html

I remember this video when it hit youtube. What a piece of crap. Then again, the insurance co. should never have written a policy for twice the cars value. Stupidity in abundance here!

I remember the video ... and the follow up that it was intentional ...
I always thought the video was a little too perfect to be random. Thanks for the article !

The insurance company should give those kids filming the video something for their outstanding camera work.

Although the car is not considered classic, a lot of classic car insurance companies will insure them under their exotic definition and are covered on declared agreed value.. Unlike our regular cars covered under ACV actual cash value, which in simple terms mean depreciated value...
I'm glad he got caught, it hurts us regular folks with higher premiums...

Thank goodness for coincidences. What were the chances of driving by and filming the Veyron at that critical moment?! I'm pleased dishonest people doing this sort of thing are getting caught. |

20 years seems a bit harsh considering all the financial crimes that go unpunished, IMHO.
