Anyone use UBER Driving Service?
We took UBER to a local casino, just over an hour there was only $62!
Awesome first experience/ride. I would highly recommend UBER to anyone here. I received an email to give out if you want to sign up and get a $30 discount.... https://www.uber.com/invite/9ansz Promo Code: 9ansz

From the consumer side, Uber is great. I had only positive experiences when I used Uber.
But I know two people who drove for Uber on the side, and they both switched to Lyft due to changes Uber made which cut into their take.

I only use uber here in Chicago (well, Lyft too). I avoid hailing a cab the old fashioned way by all means. Uber drivers are generally very nice and personable, you know when they are going to be there, and there is no monetary transaction to think about. Get in, go, get out. Why didn't I think of it 4 years ago and become a billionaire?

I use it about equally to cabs now in NYC...we even used it to get to the hospital when my wife was giving birth to our son. I think our driver was white knuckling it the whole way as he thought she would have the baby in the car but he was great.
Use them exclusively in Chicago as well...regular cabs there tend to be pretty awful. |

All the time in NYC and NJ. Sometimes I just use it to hail a cab and other times for long trips. An excellent and sometimes costly resource to have at your disposal if you get drunk across town and feel lazy

Its a great service and super convenient but with some serious flaws. I use Uber in NYC when there are no cabs due to shift changes and/traffic but never because of inclement weather.
Their surge pricing is ridiculous and I think the CEO is an ahole for the way he defends this form of price gouging. Oh, and if you don't pay attention, they'll take the longest, most congested route possible to drive up your fare |

I use it all the time so long as theres no surge pricing. That gets ridiculous.

I use Uber mostly in DC to get to DCA or IAD when I know the cost of parking would be more than the Uber charge round trip. I also used Uber in NYC when we spent 15 frustrating minutes trying to hail a cab at 5:30 PM. The Uber car arrived within 5 minutes. Great service. Much better than regular taxis.

I've used it in ABQ and PHX recently on business trips and loved it. Saved 25-30% over a car, the cars were clean and drivers were nice. I'll continue to use them for sure.

Seems pretty cool. But I can't see how they claim the vehicles standard insurance policy will afford coverage. Most policies have exclusions if you are using your car for hire.

Uber is incredible, I was in a crowd of people leaving a sporting event and the car literally pulled up within 5 feet of me...

All the time, especially to get a ride to/from the airport for business trips (my employer pays). Always good service.

Only complaint is that Uber is not available in Las Vegas. Seems that the cab union has the market all controlled.

Just curious since I don't know much about them. How do they get around the laws in each city? Like I know in most places you have to have a license or medallion to operate a car for hire.

Use it all the time but yesterday the app failed when I was trying to get to the airport. Nearly missed my flight.
