Wire transfer question
I did a search, but I didn't really get the answer to my question so I'll ask here in hopes that you guys can help. I'm thinking I'm going to sell one of my watches that is a little more expensive. I've sold several for around $500, but nothing for more that $1k.
This time I'm going to be selling something that might be a bit more than that, so I'm going to want to ask for a wire. My question is should I be concerned about fraud after giving someone my account #? Do you guys use a different account for this kind of stuff? I'm not planning on doing this selling things that often, so I figured I'd just use my main account. Any other recommendations/advice for me accepting payment this way? Thanks! |

You give out your name, address and account # every time you write a check so no worries.

Would recommend a separate account . .
I have always maintained a separate/secondary account for wire transfers, PayPal's etc. and keep a minimal balance in that account. I like the peace of mind of not having my primary account number out there..

You should open a separate account just for the transfer, do NOT provide an account with any existing funds in it. If the scammer is smart, they can access the funds. |

That is what I do. Keeps a fire wall between our main account and the one we use for Amazon, PP, etc.

Totally fine giving your account number.
Giving your personal info such as SSN, DoB, mothers Maiden name ect to access the account is a NO NO |
