Daydate II jubilee bracelet on Datejust II?
Good people, I've been lusting after a jubilee bracelet for my DJII since I got it but still no sign of Rolex releasing one. Question, is it possible to purchase a Daydate II jubilee bracelet and what's the likely cost? I assume there wouldn't be any issues fitting it to a DJII? Has anyone ever done this before?

So far the DDII only comes on the Super President. I hear tell the gold bracelets retail for about $20,000 from Rolex.

Good news, yes the DD2 bracelet will fit a DJ2. Bad news 1 , it's not a Jubilé but a President. Bad news 2 , it's nearly impossible to source from an AD if you don't own a DD2. Bad news 3 , it's expensive. Now make your choice, 4 colours available : |

The Jubilee bracelet was introduced with the new Datejust watch back in 1945 and was the only bracelet available for the DJ until ~1956 when the DD was introduced. As to putting anything else on the DJ II, I believe that the only other option is the Day Date's President bracelet because the DD and DJ have wider lugs than standard. Any Day Date bracelet is either solid Gold or Platinum, they're pricey.

I'm thinking that they can be purchased with straps instead of bracelets.

My bad, I meant the president not the jubilee, obviously. Thanks anyways to those that offered some helpful advice, much appreciated. I wonder if these ever appear on the 2nd hand market. Think I'll keep an eye out either way.

You do know that the DJII case is SS and the President bracelet for the DDII is only available in precious metal, correct? So, even if you found one in white gold, the color of the bracelet would not match the SS case. In addition, the balance of the watch would be very strange because the bracelet would be very heavy and the head would be very light.

If you want, I'll sell you a platinum bracelet for $37,610 (with 1.25 link).

Not sure putting a WG band on a SS steal head would be a good move, esp with those prices. Why not trade/sell your DJII and pick up a used WG DDII instead if you can justify the price? The DDII and DJII head are pretty much exact minus the date wheel.

Thanks all, just exploring the options. I'm not massively against spending the $'s to do it if I could find one at the right price however unlikely. Selling the DJII is not an option for me as it was a wedding day gift from my wife, just wanted to get a feel for what was possible.

Actually, white gold wouldn't be too bad as the watch already has a white gold bezel. |
