Just dropped my iPhone 5
This must be the 10th time I've dropped it. Screen comppetely shattered. There goes my plan for selling it for $309. Pretty odd that I've dropped it plenty of times, wasn't in perfect condition. I always wondered how people cracked their screens. Assume they were irresponsible. This was a superbly low drop and the entire top bezel is shattered. Half the screen is also shattered (spider webbed)
Kind of sucks. |

Sorry to hear of this development.
This is why I'm such a proponent of protective cases, a la Otter Box. Better to have an ugly case on your fancy phone than to have a shattered screen on your fancy phone.

You can fix your phone by putting it in the mwave for 90sec. Google it if you want more details. |

Agreed on the use of hard cases. My iPhone 3 after it fell from the kitchen counter onto the granite tile floor. I had one of those shrink wrap protective films on it. It kept together and now is used as an iPod for my Bose Sound Dock. I use the Lifeproof case now.

What he said. My iPhones the minute that are getting out of the box, they go straight to the protective case and they have extra screen protector. |

Can't you advertise it for double the price as a rare spider web screen like people do with watch dials that are ruined?

The screen for iPhone 5 costs almost 300euro to replace here, due to the glass screen being glued to the retina display. Meaning you need to buy the lcd screen too.

This was no accident. You drop and break your 5 right after the 6 is on the market and ready for $$$ upgrade ... coincidence? I think not.

I believe I have some Verizon insurance on this, so whoever said to fix it and sell it is genius! I was under the influence of a little too much gin last night and wasn't considering that option (or holding iphone carefully!!!) |

I have dropped my iPhones in the past by accident but seeing that they were in Otter Boxes they didn't break and the screens never cracked either.....so I am a big fan of protective cases for my cell phones!!!

Whoa, my wife dropped her iphone 5 and I had it replaced for $114 at a local mall kiosk... It worked perfectly, until she spilled an entire drink on it...

My wife spilled her water bottle in her purse and flooded her iphone! That is one thing I wish Apple would do and that is create a water proof phone. Doesn't Samsung already have one that is water proof or water resistant? Come on Apple give us a water proof phone!

Don't tell me, you had it in your hand when you got the news about the Rolex price increase!
I think Apple has a pre-installed app that runs in the background and makes their phones slippery whenever a new one is released.

But I wanted a bigger screen since I shoot at least 200 pics or more a day Also with the S-pen I can make directly notes on the pic without saving, opening a new app, saving again etc When I got my Note 3 a lot of people where joking about the size . . . so what now with their iPhone 6+ . . . . Anyway I was pleased at the time with the iPhones but momentarily I am staying with Samsung It's a great phone, works great. . . I just love it ! Hope to get the Note 4 asap ! Better screen - way better screen as the Retina, better front and rear camera as the iPhone 6 OK no iOS but that isn't an advantage the last days . . . 4.4.2 does the trick as well on my Note Also forgot to mention the swappable battery ! And the SD Memory card slot . . . And . . . But hey . . . just buy what you love and like ;) |

I'm the same way. My phone is in a case before I walk out of the store. It still looks new 2-3 years later. I use a tactical mil-spec Magpul case with a screen protecter. It's much smaller than the ginormous Ottercrate, and just as durable. Almost bulletproof. But...
This is whats killing me. I want SMALLER now. I have an Ipad. I want a smaller phone that I can just bring and forget about unless I need it. Think small "dumb" flip-phone that I can just clip to my belt. You know, like the ones we had for years. I am loving idea of the Iphone 6, but it is going to be waaaaaay to big once I put a case on it. I am leaning more and more on just going from my 5 to a 5s and call it quits... How does that Apple care thing work. If I get a 6, it will not go in a case due to the size. A 6 with no case is about the same size as my 5 with a case. It would be a wash. Maybe... Anyone seen my flip-phone? |

LOL, I'd still have my flip phone but finally gave it up a week ago when it ran out of storage. Had to delete a contact to put a new one in.

I think we are married to the same woman. My wife has had the same issue and has ruined two iphones, a work blackberry, and an Ipod. I am sure I am leaving off other stuff destroyed in her purse floods. I even bought here a water bottle with a leak proof cap but if the operator doesn't lock it down then it doesn't exactly help.
