Reunited & it feels so good
Just got my GMT back from a full service at the local AD in Indianapolis. The 4 weeks felt like an eternity without it, but so worth it.

I know exactly how you feel. Had mine serviced last December and it felt like part of me was missing. The good thing about though was I discovered this forum in it's absence! The way to cure this is to have another Rolex as backup when one's in service.

Looks like a fresh watch for a service, either way well done to get the baby back on the wrist

Thanks, guys! I definitely agree that it's time to add a second piece to the rotation. I think a Vintage TT Datejust on a brown leather strap would be perfect (and not too hurtful to the wallet, either). Thoughts?

Sounds like a plan. A DJ would be a good choice. It's nice to have more than one Rolex, especially when one is gone for service.

Good plan. A DJ backup is a classy way to go, but I would consider a quick set version if you prefer the date to be correct. Of course if it's on a winder constantly running, that would fix it.
And consider yourself lucky! I sent a Paycheck Philippe in for routine service and got it 8 MONTHS later! |

Eight week wait for my 14060 Sub to come back from Rolex London. Looks great though. Like new. Even came back with case stickers on it. I missed it a lot but had my 116610 for company so it wasn't so bad.

Oh yeah...a second watch (at least...) would definitely make that wait easier.
But now it's like you have something new all over. Enjoy! |
