I cannot decide, subc no date or explorer 1

I love both, can only have one, I'm a hairstylist, love the classic style of the sub no date, love the minimalism of the explorer1, I want something I can beat up and not worry about it. Sub is more sporty where as explorer is more dressy...

Help any thoughts ?

I have owned both and the Submariner would be my pick.
The Explorer is a fantastic watch, but there is just something about a Sub:)

Sub C is more versatile IMO. I have one and I could easily where it every day every where. The E1 is a great watch, but it's too subtle sometimes.

Sub c is a dive watch. Don't get it if you don't dive. The Explorer is a classic all-around timepiece, and built to take punishment. It's perfect.

hate to argue ,,, but the sub certainly isnt a dive watch ,,, its a watch styled like a divers watch ,,, nothing costing 5k plus could ever be thought of as a dive watch , its a watch for looking great and timing parking meters with. having said that ,,, you dont need to be an explorer to own one of them either ,,, this rolex thing is so tricky to justify ,,, lol ,,,

If you want people to know you're wearing a Rolex, go for the Sub. The Explorer is far more subtle. In terms of sporty or dressy, they're equal. I recommend the Explorer because there are likely to be far, far fewer of them. I wonder what the numbers are...?

+1

I went with the Explorer and have been very happy with it. I wear it everyday no matter what I'm going to be doing. Nobody notices I'm wearing a Rolex and I like it that way.

I have the same problem every morning...😎
Now seriously, both are icons, blend perfectly in any environment and are heavy duty tool watches so whatever you decide you will be happy.

Ok, so not trying to be silly here, but as a hairstylist, you may at some time or another need to use the bezel on the Sub to check on elapsed time (under dryer; since applying color; etc), especially if you have multiple clients at once...just a thought.

Pretty good point here. Bezel could come in handy.

Explorer hands down. Larger dial, wears flatter, and dresses up more nicely than a sub.
