Buying from International Rolex AD

Does anyone here in the US have experience with buying a Rolex from an International AD and having it shipped back to the States? I'm not talking about buying it overseas and then wearing it back home. The watch would be shipped to me from Europe.

I've seen a few threads on how difficult it is to get into the country but most of them were referring to gray market dealers.

I'm curious to know how it went and if you had to pay hefty import duties.

probably wouldn't work due to customs. No one is allowed to ship rolex watches into the USA. So good chance it would get caught up in customs and never make it home to you.

It's possible, my wife got my Hulk from an AD in Caracas, Venezuela. She consulted the owner of Diamond Cutters International here in Houston and he made it happen in less than two weeks. He did however say he had to pull favors.

Why risk customs taking it? There are so many places to buy here, so I wouldn't!

Yea why risk it because you would have to pay duties on the watch as well. Its cheaper to just buy from here.

The prices are very good. Can't really come close to it even at gray market prices. But its probably not worth it with all the unknowns like customs and import duties.

I know you can buy it over the phone but from my experience you have to pick it up in person (I'm sure exception exist but I've not been privy to them

You may save a 10% or so which is the difference in VAT, not really worth the hassle imho

If I were you I would buy from one of the trusted sellers on this forum.
I know that is what people always tend to say, but as a person who does not live in the US, some people do not realise just how good you have it. I would love to be able to buy from the trusted sellers here on the forum but due to duties etc. on shipping a watch from the US, most of the time, it's not worth it for me to do it.
If I lived over there I would save myself a small fortune.

I wouldn't risk it. Paying a fraction more is worth the piece of mind.
