He's done that before. ;)

Very cool, thanks for posting! I always wondered what the trick was to restoring the brushed finish.

That is awesome. I'd love to have the tooling to do that at home.

I have a potentially very naive question, and it's something I've always wondered since becoming a watch enthusiast.

How does he keep dust/dirt/particulates from entering the case and movement when working on the watch in this manner? I'm not sure how Rolex does it, but it seems to me that handling the watch in such a manner, it'd be almost impossible in any non-sealed environment to keep dust from entering the case. I always imagined that since watch movements are incredibly precise and sensitive things, dust and other particulates could potentially have an effect on its function.

This is also why I've never opened the case back on my watches. Perhaps the video doesn't show any of the "de-dusting" process (I can't imagine they use compressed air), but how does one make sure that NOTHING gets in the case at all when opening it and taking the movement out this way?

My mouth dropped when he recreated the rough part of the bracelet. But nice job.

Having worked with watches myself, it's a pain in the a$$. You've got to constantly be blowing off any dust that lands on the dial, keeping the inside of the crystal clean, etc.

I'm guessing he got all the dust off the dial/inside of the crystal, right before he put the crystal down. At that point it's sealed off and he just has to press down the bezel.

Superb work, but I cringed at the thought that someone in Thailand likely paid BNIB price for this refinished piece.

Something to keep in mind. I doubt ADs would do this, but in bad parts of the world, who knows.
