Feeling cold towards the Polar Explorer II 16570
Hi guys,
I just bought a Explorer II 16570 Black dial + Hands from aleeboy to swap as i am really getting bored of my polar after 2 months of wearing it. Do any of you encounter this situation? I have seen most of the Explorer II 16570s on sale in most forums and online are Polar and not so much of the black dial model. Does the polar dial appeals to you only for a brief moment? Really looking forward for the arrival of the black dial and hands so that i can swap ASAP. |

Not here. I love the polar as it is. If I get bored of it, I swap watches altogether and wear a black dial watch or blue dial or slate dial... you'll get the idea.
But to swap out the dial. I won't do it. That's why some of us have more than one watch.. |

I think (from my reading here) that there is quite a healthy following for white dial, ref the thread about white dials here:
http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=389639 I have the Exp II 216570, and love it, I don't have any regret at all about buying it and wear it daily. I do have a black faced GMT Master 16700, so like mentioned above, if I want a black face, I just change my watch. |

Personally I much prefer the 216570 (either dial colour)
I owned the 16570 (both black and white dials) but found it too small and disliked the old-style clasp

Love the black dial, not overly fond of the white. Why? Beats me, just emotions.

The white dial plus the metallic bezel makes the watch look more substantial. I think the white dial is the best color for the Explorer II.

I love clean look and readability of the polar 16570. It gets 3x more wrist time than my GMT II.

For some strange reason, I like the polar on the 16570 and the black dial on the 216570...I have no idea why.

I went with the Polar 216570 as I already have a Sub-C and wanted the white dial.

The key to not getting tired of a watch is the beauty of rotation. Switch it up and then when you go back it feels like a new watch

Noit on mine. It depends on how you bang it around.
Anyway thanks guy for your opinions! I'm getting another blue SMP 2221.80 and swapping to black dial for the 16570. i think i much prefer the black over polar. Polar seems a little more for senior citizens where i live in(No intention to hurt anyone) |

I felt cold towards the Polar too, which is why I went black. While others would disagree, I think the Exp II in black looks better and is more legible. Like any aesthetic, it's all boils down to personal preference.

On pictures, the white 16570 appealed a lot to me. I wanted to get one. But after trying on both models, I went for the black one. No regrets.

It's part of that "Explorer II enigma" thing I guess. Good thing they make both.

But i dont know why i still miss my black dial which i foolishly sold off two years ago to diversify my collection to a few less expensive pieces. In the end i still sold everything and went back with the 16570 white this time. But it looks so stale after a while and kind of looks slightly more girlish on my girly sized wrist. |

My 16570 in white gets the most wrist time because it's my everyday watch and my least expensive Rolex. I enjoy the rotation among my collection of Rolex, Omega, Panerai and Breitling, with the grail being the 116333 with the green slate dial.
IMO, if you have a diverse collection, you'll never get tired of the ones you like and love.
