Binder is a genius
I have two Binder-modified pens, a Pelikan 600 that I bought from him and a Pelikan 400 for which he supplied a replacement nib. They are my best writers, the most pleasant and satisfying to use. They, plus a couple of my Watermans, are the last ones with which I would ever part.

Richard is an icon in the world of fountain pens. A Nibmeister extraordinaire!

Sadly, I've learned that Richard Binder has quit the business, at least where it comes to sales (pens and accessories) and repairs, restoration, nib tuning and custom work. He is still offering the monthly pen tray and specialty nibs.
The Binder-tuned Pelikan nibs are the finest writers I own. I treasure them now even more knowing that there won't be any more. Perhaps I'll get a flex, since he's still doing those. Who knows, maybe with some work my penmanship will rise to the occasion. |
