Invest in a bracelet pin pusher tool. Seiya sells them for something like $5 and Otto Frei sells them for a bit more. They're plastic and patience is needed with them as they will break if you're hasty, but they work great for all pin/bushing bracelets (Speedy Pro, etc).

Or the pin side of the spring bar tool to push the pin and then a set of needlenose pliers or fisherman forceps to pull it out clean. Then once you get the pin and bushing seated after adjusting, press down the pin on the edge of a desk so it goes in 95% of the way, then carefully use the pin end of the spring bar tool to make the remaining 5% flush to the side of the link.

Sorry... I've done it a few times and it works every time!
