Advice on Rolex GMT-MASTER 1675

I have just bought this watch Rolex GMT-MASTER 1675, serial number 1682639. I took it for servicing at Rolex, they say the watch is original. They mentioned that the dial is original, but I forgot to ask them if the dial matches the age of this watch. Some of my friends told me the dial is too new considering the age, so the dial might have been replaced along the road by previous owners. Any advice will be great!

Watch is 100% correct. Dial is Mark I long E and proper for a 1.6m watch. Also has the very rare small red arrow which was "only" used on matte dials in the 1.6m range or very close to that range. It looks 100% to me, even the hands look right.

thanks for your advice. I just seemed to find the dial a bit too new for the watch considering its age.

Welcome to the Forum!

As mentioned, Mk-1 dial is good.

Can you take a closer picture of some of the plots?

Judging by the case, it is not impossible that it has lead a very protected life. Hence the new looking dial and bezel… amazing. If indeed orig this would be one of the cleanest I have seen.
Cheers to you.

1. of all: Welcome and congrats to your 1675

The serial will put it in the end of 1967 production.
Like already mentioned, the MKI-dial and the small GM-hand is correct for the serial.

I would like to see some better pics of the lume/plots, too.
They seem very very flat. This serialrange is normally known to have an MKI dial with a very thick layer of lume (tritium/zinksulfat mixture). This lume is still glowing in the dark, after beeing charged with light. Just check it out.
If I'm right, caseback says II/67!?

Your GMT has a great FatFont RedBack-Inlay wich I personally would put in the mid to end 70's. Would not bother me, because it's a real nice one!

The crown guards still remain very strong and even.
Can't evaluate the case, therefore pics from the side would be necessary.

Datewheel looks like one of those very nice ones with all 6 and 9 closed and the 7 hooked. IMHO also correct for this batch.

I really would love to see some more pics.

You have a very nice and rare configuration (I call it 1. batch of MKI matte dial).

Here is a link to my 1675 1.68 Mio. serial to compare......hope it helps

Congrats! My 1,68 says hello (though mine has obviously had a hand- and insertjob)!

Thanks everyone for your wishes! Glad to be part of this family. :) Indeed buenosdias, the caseback wrote II/67. You are definitely knowledgeable on this!
