OK Tudor Afficionados is it real or is it a total hoax?
On a really big auction site as # 190218946145 is an auction for what I have always thought to be a total hoax but they are bidding this thing up past $5600 usd. What say you guys, fake total hoax or the real deal?

From everything I've seen and read they're all fakes. Saw one for sale in NYC at a vintage watch shop for $7K.

think i've seen that same "prototype" sell 3 or 4 times
seems to bring $6k to low $7K - someone even sold one at Antiquorum auction recently
genereal concensus is it's a fake |

I don't know much about Tudor's so why is it considered to be a hoax?

That Tudor looks fishy to me, too.

I think it is a hoax because ......
I think it is a hoax because I do not think that Rolex or Tudor ever made this style of watch even as a prototype. The movement looks like a T390 and the dial might be from a 7928, but I do not think the case was ever made by Rolex or Tudor. I was hoping someone more knowledgeable about the old models would be able to say for sure.

in an earlier thread on this same "prototype" someone
had the link to the replica watch site that many believe actually made it - supposedly from the sketches of a japanese hobbiest -
all i know is, that "prototype" has been sold so many times, on ebay ca, au, uk and usa, that there must be 200,000 of them floating around in circulation i'm sure someone more authoritative will chime in here soon with a link to one of the earlier postings - in the meantime, if you feel the urge to bid, fearing you'll miss the opportunity of a lifetime, keep your money - another one will be up for bid shortly hey, just noticed that was you, vince - i don't usually look at the poster's name - caught the same post from you over on EOT |

I've never seen or heard of it before, but it looks really cool. I hope it is real because it will add to the history of Rolex/Tudor.
