One of the very few times I'll pick an AP over a Rolex.

Do you dive with your DSSD? - If you do I find it to be more practical as a real diving instrument, if not - AP for sure!

DSSD. Just because I am not a fan of AP's designs in general.

In reality :
I have the DSSD, if I take the DIVER I have to sell the DSSD ... I like the DSSD, because it is very nice and solid Rolex . the DIVER, I find her magnificent, the problem "I think" : "is that she is more ,more and more fragile ,what do you think ? " and my nightmare is te scratches and i think also : "the DIVER is a scratches magnet ,what do you think ? " |

For the long haul DSSD,it's a tank, I had a Diver and I don't see it taking a beating.

I have contemplated this myself. The AP is nice, however a if turn off for me is simply the rubber crowns, I think AP would have hit it out of the park if they chose a solid steel crown versus the rubber. There is something that kills me when I see rubber in such an expensive watch (minus the strap f course).
That said, I couldnt sell my DSSD for one. |

I would stand pat with the DS until something comes along you just can't absolutely live without.

The AP Diver on a bracelet is one of my favorite watches. If I could only have one though it would be the DeepSea every time. The AP can't take the wear and tear of a Rolex. No watch can really.

Diver!!! It's heavy on the bracelet but if your used to the DSSD it won't be a problem.
The diver bezel might be more prone to showing scratches but it will hold up fine for daily wear. I've had the SS diver as well as the FC. After almost 2 years of being my daily beater my FC diver still looks new. My DSSD was my daily beater before that and while it still looks good, it has many noticeable scratches. |

Deep blue gets my vote
The blue and black makes for fun matching of shirts. Super cool deep sea.
