VIDEO: Talking Watches With Jean-Claude Biver

I think that this video is an absolute must-see.

The watches are enough to keep you riveted, as is the man's story, and there are things in this man's home that will knock your socks off.

I don't really know much about Mr. Biver, but I can discern that he has probably been somewhat controversial, not to mention influential, in his time.

He certainly gives some insight into the phenomenon we often call the homage.

Incredibly influential. He resurrected Blancpain, lead the Swiss in fighting back against the Quartz movement, turned Omega around, then proved himself again by buying, elevating and expanding Hublot, and is now in charge of all watch brands under the Louis Vuitton banner, which is quite a portfolio. He is incredibly wealthy, and is also known for making his own cheese, which is as sought after as many of the watches he has had a hand in. This, in my opinion, is the single best episode of Talking Watches, and not only because of the unreal private collection he shows off, but also the discussion of his education and career in the industry. A living legend.
