Hey guys. Ive had my brand new SubC for about a week and find it hard to pull out the crown to the 2nd and 3rd postion to set the date and time. Is there a certain way to do it or does it get looser as time passes.

Sorry maybe I'm being too nice to my new watch.

Ok stupid me. I guess the better technique is to use fingers instead of trying with nails.

No, don't worry about it... It's a little tight and temperamental the first few months... It'll loosen-up and break-in nicely...

Believe me, at first, you feel like you need more leverage by using your fingernails because it's so tight and rigid, but your fingers alone are better.

Also give it a turn after you've unscrewed it to ensure you have popped it out all the way then pull to set the time and date

Try pulling out to the 2nd position first before going to the 3rd.

Lossens up over time and you can find those sweet spots easy breezy!

A SLIGHT counter-clockwise turn also helps hit the "sweet spot" to pull the crown out more easily.

Obviously I meant after it is unscrewed.

Typically upon unscrewing the crown I go ahead and wind the watch 40 times and then I set it.

I wear most of mine regualrly and have a winder so I usually never need to unscrew the crown unless setting the time is involved.

No dumb question. I had an Air king for over ten years and never realized I could wind it until I joined TRF. It's nice not to have to shake it every morning.

When I got my first Rolex no one had mentioned that they have a screw down crown. That was embarrassing. I had never had anything better than a Timex. I didn't know screw down crowns even existed. Everything was good until the first time I had to change the date...
