Friend is looking to sell in Canada , bought new in Canada in 1980, rare at all? Can someone ball park the value?

Not rare. Nice 'white' 1680 Sub. Great matching patina on dial and hands. Nice faded insert.
Looks to have been polished, though, which is a pity, but no big deal. it needs to have the brushed finish put back on the tops of the lugs on the case, and the bracelet, of course. More and better pics would be good.
