1968 Tudor 7016 bezel question...

I have a gorgeous 68' Tudor Sub that bought because of the lovely patina, but it came with an aftermarket bezel insert and I'd like to find a period correct one. Does anyone know if the Tudor subs from this era used the same inserts as the 5512/3/1680?

What would be the description of this insert? Fat font, long 5 etc..?

Thanks in advance.

Here's an example of a correct original...I believe they are the same as those for the Rolex models of that era.

Very nice! Lets see some more photos please That has one of the hardest things to find correct on a 1968 - the Big Bubble sweep - Many have been replaced.

The inserts are the same as Rolex subs. Some will tell you there *may* be differences (an maybe there was some alternatives). Yet many come with nice inserts completely indistinguishable. A 68 could have a MK1/MK3 with varying softness of the font. Many 1968 7016 watches came with a Long 5 Fat Font.

Here is my 1968 with a Long 5

Thanks. This I believe is all-original (except it came to me without the bracelet) and unpolished. The auto-lock bezel even still works (the first I've ever had where I need to press down to turn it).

MKII "Long 5" would look perfect on there!
