Tudor fans are gonna love this!

Great historical and inside video of Tudor at their headquarters. Great work Ben

http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/inside-...-watch-company

Missed a few transitional references, but who cares. 7923 and 7033! Talk about rare, wow!

Enjoy guys

Great read! Thanks for the link. A square crown guard 7928 would be my ultimate Tudor.

Catanachs jewellers still exist today in Melbourne so that old 30's piece is interesting.

On another matter I think it's about time Hodinkee openly disclosed the nature of the commercial association they have with the Rolex/Tudor companies when they publish such articles. It would be the credible thing to do.

That was good, even if only a 30K foot view, as some important references were missing. But that is where we get to chase, then fill in the details.

That prototype was killer - lots of people having palpitations now

You are right but many do. I mean take this line from the article,
"Over the past few years, there has been an increased interest in the historical watches from the Tudor Watch Company – no doubt due to the fantastic modern watches shown by the brand. We're talking the Heritage Chronograph, the Black Bay, the Pelagos, the Heritage Advisor, and the Ranger."

Give us a break. That reads as advertorial not journalism.

I agree, the people that run H want to make enough money to afford all of these wonderful pieces (assuming they are not hereditarily endowed) they get to handle and report on to us - need big ad dollars for that. They are the hot iron in the fire. But Rolex and Tudor have also given them great access, impressive to both the HipsterFu, and to the CollectorGeek.

Reminds me of the Mainstream Media and some political parties

Yep.

BTW I've always been a fan of Wallace Shawn and The Princess Bride. He's not exactly Steve McQueen, but he's very cool in his own way.

Sorry but the video is particularly creepy. I think Mel Brooks could have had some fun with that. And please, get a shave before going on camera.

great video, and kudos to Ben...not sure some of you realise how IMPOSSIBLE it is for any third party get any kind of access into the tudor / Rolex world ....

looks like they are still missing one :) ( sorry Ross) the rarest of the rare.

He is not really a 'third party'. He has a commercial arrangement with the brand for goodness sake. He is promoting it. Anyway, enough said.

I don't know if he does or doesn't , i have never seen any particular advertising on hodinkee and i have no relationship with Ben or hodinkee, but assuming you know more about it than I , how many other of the multitude of media streams that DO have commercial arrangements with Rolex/ Tudor get get any kind of interview with Rolex/Tudor let alone archive access to see the pieces they hold...answer.....NOBODY !!!!!! ?

Hodinkee articles and reviews on Tudor watches do read like paid advertorial. They also run a very official looking Tudor chat room, and the "Welcome Back Tudor" video they produced when Tudor returned to the US market is pretty cringeworthy. They should declare or clarify their interest if they want to be taken seriously as an impartial resource. I've never read anything even remotely negative about Tudor on Hodinkee. An I'm a big fan of Tudor, with several pieces in my collection.

He was everywhere but to me that was what he will be most remembered for, Vizzini.

As much as I know they 'love' Tudor I assume they have not been running the ads for free. No problem accepting a commercial arrangement, just disclose it. Standard practice now in travel journalism for example. Now I've really said my piece, back to more enjoyable topics. http://tudorwatch.hodinkee.com

Black dial with that bezel combo is incredible Jed!. I got to handle Eric's black dial and it was stunning.

I think it was Robert Maron who was trying to sell one of those black dial models for US$200k on Ebay a few months ago.

Edit: My mistake...US$195k: http://www.ebay.com/itm/TUDOR-VINTAG...item2ed8b894d3
