I'll never understand the apple watch, especially when something with a mechanical movement is also a smart watch, if I were to get anything smart on my wrist it would be this;

Never. I have got many Apple devices, but will never buy iWatch. Too much of mega marketing for little value. Got a Withings instead, at least it looks like a watch...

Mehhhh...these rocked back in the day....antiquated now, likely like this will be 30 years from now (but if I were a betting man, odds are Rolex will still be highly valuable in 3 decades - just saying)....Oh, gotta run my Delorean is here to pick up me, cya!

"I regret buying an Apple Watch (and I knew I would)"

Just saw this article on Engadget.

I switched to android after using iphones for 6 years. Last year I bought the Motorola Moto 360 and a lot of what is said in this article rings true.

I rarely wear my moto 360 anymore. I think it looks great (so much nicer than the base apple watch) but after having it for almost a year, I just don't see myself reaching for it.

Yes, it tracks heart rate and gives you directions (from the vastly superior google maps), gives you readouts for messages and all other notifications. After a year, the novelty has worn off. What these smart watches really do is save you the 10 seconds it would take to pull your phone out and check a notification. If someone is serious about activity tracking, they will use an tool made for it.

I think overall the Apple watch platform is more polished than Android wear, but almost everything it does has been available on Android wear smartwatches for over a year. Apple deserve credit for their marketing, but it's always a bit disturbing when I see a new apple product and people loving all these "new" features and ideas that other companies have been doing for a while.

Gen 2 Apple products are usually significantly better than their first generation effort. I don't see the apple watch being any different. That's the way Apple does business. They keep back improvements so they can sell a new product the following year. Next years Apple watch will be significantly better than this years.

I don't like Apple much and could not find any use for that thing.

I apologize Sir, imho this subject is related to Rolex/Tudor, since I asked if anybody wears it in rotation. Furthermore, the question has been brought up previously whether the iwatch could be a competitor to Rolex. Had I asked if anybody wears a PP in rotation to a Rolex ....o well, never mind.

I have been wearing this thing for two weeks straight now! I haven't done this with my other incoming for a long time. The IM capability paired with Siri made it hard to wear my "real" watches. Just so convenient!

It could be done. I won't. I do wear a fitbit thought but that looks more like a rubber bracelet

I looked at their site and I like the idea of their T-Band only, they say it adjusts to almost all watches, I might get one to go with my Omega Seamaster like this you have a mechanical watch and only the band is "smart", the problem with the apple watch is that in 8 months there's gonna be a new one much better, like everything they do, I'm saying this but I am using an iPhone 4, not even 4+, it still works, I have no intention of getting a 6, I hate the new phones, they are too big for me

I see you have a Pam pic as avatar, I think it would be really cool to put just this "smart band" on your Pam, in 1 year when your apple watch will be obsolete, think about it

I was trying them on yesterday at the Apple Store but won't let it take the place of my Submariner on my wrist. If I get one I will probably wear it on my right wrist, opposite of my Sub. Anyone think that would look weird??

Agree. Asking myself if all this tech adds or subtracts from my experience of here and now. I think most of the time, it is a distraction and ineffective.

I don't have an iPhone but I'm thinking of getting the iWatch anyway, the 38mm sport that is. I'd like to replace my old iPod shuffle and having a heart monitor and music on my wrist and accurately time my runs is quite cool.

Just ordered the 38mm stainless steel for my wife. She is not a watch person but she thinks it will be very useful to her (she always keeps her phone in her bag and misses calls). Worst case I have a new ss smart watch, best case she starts liking watches and I can get another Rolex to "share".

I'm kind of confused, this is the Watches(Non-Rolex) Forum, isn't it?

Anyone doing this on a daily basis? Been wearing my Apple Watch for almost 3 weeks and my mechanicals are all needing wrist time.
Yesterday at work I wore a traditional watch on my left arm and my AW Milanese loop with the face down on the right (so it looks like a bracelet) but battery drained fast for some reason and it was somewhat uncomfortable.

Really tempted to buy one, but will probably wait to see if they reduce the thickness in the 2nd gen. The biggest selling point for me is as an activity tracker, albeit a very expensive one.
