IWC Big Pilot 5004 vs 5009

Hi guys,

Ready to finally pull the trigger on an IWC. Just wondering if there is a reason to go 5004 over 5009. A 5009 is about $500 more and I can afford it. Should I go with the 5009?

5002 forget the others...Vintage cool look for me the best BP ever! I have best of both worlds transitional 5002 - Old school look with hi beat movement.

Whatever you decide Big Pilots are great watches and you will enjoy!!

Such a great looking watch Ken! If it was the 5004 vs 5009 what would you pick?

I love the look of the 5002 though. Really is a cool look.

Honestly not sure I looked at all so went with 5002 as loved the dial and the transitional as only 200 or so were made. If forced to pick 5004 or 5009 I'd flip a coin and get best deal I could for either mint complete.

They made slight improvements with the 5009, but nothing really significant. I went with the 5009 but either one will be a great choice. Mine has been extremely accurate and I've been very happy.

5009 it is the last version and as mentioned before with some internal improvements. ( the way the stem is connected to the crown)

Go with the 5009. The improvements to the crown are well worth it.
