Any regrets? Grail Sold
Has anyone ever sold their "Grail" to use the proceeds to purchase several different pieces to expand their collection? If so, were there any regrets? I know it's not a cut and dry question, I'm certain there are many opinions about it. I figured that this was the place where someone might be able to share their experiences. Thanks

I would only do the opposite: sell several pieces to buy my grail.

Have to agree, if you thinking of moving your "grail" you have to ask was it really your grail?

I would only sell a grail if I really had to financially or if I was leaving the hobby, which judging by your username I hope you are not.

Once acquired, the grail becomes just another watch. I have traded watches that I regretted afterwards, purchased them again and ended up selling them once again.
Generally if you are thinking about selling it, you will end up selling it eventually. We all miss the ones that are gone but you move on and get something new and exciting. If you are thinking of selling it, there is something that bothers you. Otherwise you would not even contemplate the move. |

Thanks Jay and all who shared their thoughts. I'm back on track. I think I got caught up in some instant gratification thinking. I just need to practice what I preach to my son, patience and planning. I'll get those other pieces in time.

Grail means different things to different people, a grail to some is a watch they would really like, but its gap to the rest may not be much, for some a grail they would sell all of their pieces and their cars for..... I don't really have a grail, but love my watches. I could see my self selling everything if I ever needed to for financial reasons. Hopefully most if not all will stay around a long time.
