on its side or on its back.

I wear my rolex SD D ser everyday, but I take it off at night and put it on the nightstand. Is it better to lay the watch on its side, or back. Looking to see if one or the other is better for time keeping presicion.

This could depend, I was told before the crown down position will help if it is gaining time. That worked fine for my Fortis B-42 Cosmonaut but with my Omega SeaMaster Professional, that position does the opposite. Best bet is to see what some others say or simply to test a few positions and see which is best for your particular watch.

I typically lay mine on it's side with the crown up and my watch is a spot on with the Atomic time If I perceive it may be losing just a bit, I will put it dial up, hoping it may gain a little

From the FAQ's:

Although these rules more applied to old, non fastbeat Rolex movts., still you might be able to "regulate" your SD a bit that way.

The "Crown Down" position still seems to have an effect on most watches, though, making it lose time during the night.
