Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond Sign Deal with Amazon

The ex-Top Gear presenters have signed a deal with Amazon Prime Instant Video for 3 series starting in 2016, this news will provide relief to many Top Gear fans who love the dynamic trio.

Do you have Amazon Prime? Will you consider getting it following this news?

hopefully early 2016, it seems all the series I used to watch on cable are gone, the ones on Netflix I followed are over, and now it might be on to try amazon prime.

I'm not a prime member and don't plan to be, but I would love to see the first few shows.

I've loved new top gear since day one. I'll sign up to prime for their show, no question.

I'm a Prime member. Some of their shows are good, some not so much. And they terminate some promising series after an episode or two. I'll give this new one a watch (*_*)

So you need to buy a subscription to Amazon/Prime to see their new show.
That's got to be a big impediment hasn't it?

I don't know how much new subs pull through this new show will provide Amazon, but the existing subscriber base may help the show get a foothold.

The key to me will be the writers and storylines - I'm just not sure the 3 headliners alone would make a great show.

Not a fan of Clarkson and even less of Hammond and May.

I pass.

I don't mind the Top Gear magazine as I don't to listen to the drivel or watch the cars being abused.

If you do a lot of online shopping, Amazon Prime is a great offering. Although I don't take enough advantage of the online streaming content category, their free two-day shipping alone is worth the yearly subscription.

I think Amazon is going in the right direction with the Top Gear-esque original programming strategy, competing with the likes of Netflix original programming, but the model itself is very expensive and until both of these companies have a large enough library of their own content, they won't be able to take full advantage of the HBO model. The risks are very high.

Both Amazon and Netflix are facing incredibly high licensing fees from Hollywood and every time they massage their model for margin, Hollywood raises their fees, eating up those margins. It's an ugly game and it'll be interesting to see how all of this pans out.

Don't think i'll be subscribing £££ to watch it. They had a bloody good run, made one of the best entertainment TV shows in my lifetime but it had had it's day and was tired.

To be honest, i'm rather looking forward to the new show for a bit of fresh air.
A petrol head presenting and an actual F1 driver doing the car stuff !

Should be interesting...

We've subscribed to Amazon Prime for a few years now and most certainly get our money's worth. The free next delivery pays for the subscription and the streaming service is a bonus.

As for the Terrible Trio, that is great news
