From AD, 2 years only with option to extend one year. Only selected boutiques offer 5 years warranty.

Only ones bought at Boutiques do but you are paying for it. Boutique's don't discount so they throw in some goodies and 5 years warranty which is really 2 extra years since AP gives you an extra year if you waterproof test your watch before 2 years are up. Also most get nice discount on AP's at retailers maybe 20-25% so again you are paying a hefty premium for extra warranty which you don't know if you'll ever use. That is a big price tag IMHO for a few extra years which won't ever pay off when you are talking about nice discount on expensive watch. Think about it...

Not a 'policy' of AP, but rather used at select AP Boutiques (as many have noted this boutique in this country does, but others do not--Ginza is great example). NYC does offer it and they do offer 10% off (if they know you), but for me I probably won't keep the watch 3 years even, so it's not worth it.
However if you are buying 'Boutique only' pieces (and AP will start pushing that model more in the future FYI), then selecting a Boutique offering 5 years obviously makes sense. |

You could probably buy from a non-boutique with a discount, then get the watch serviced after the 3 year period just for the 2 year warranty that comes with a service, and still save money as opposed to paying full price for the 5 year warranty
