How do you explain your Pam?

The only other watches I have are Rolex Subs...easily explainable...

The PAM, I am new to. Someone will say "Wow, that is a beautiful watch! What is it?"

I respond with..."This is a Luminor Panerai 000 Logo...."

I feel like I need to help them understand what this amazing timepiece is...

What is your go to explanation?

I always just said "Panerai" when I had mine. A few people had even heard of them

"Its a Panerai. They were a equipment supplier to the Italian navy in WW2. They were more of a government contractor with all types of dive equipment. Their watches were made with parts supplied by Rolex. Their design was all about legibility. The design is very unique and one of my favorites."

Ask them if they know "John Rambo" or Arnold - This is what they wear!

It is a Panerai. And I love it.

I say "thanks it's a Panerai". Then usually they say "oh" somewhat confused. If they don't walk away then I'll explain a little more about the heritage of it.

I usually say something along the lines of... it's a watch brand that Hugh Grant used to wear before his run in with a tranny....

That usually gets a laugh. I've tried to explain that it's really just a pocket watch strapped to my wrist (I have a 111E).

When I get to the "Italian Navy" part, some would ask, they had a Navy?

Just say its the Official John Rambo and Rocky Balboa watch and you should be good to go. Look at the second pic. Youll look so much cooler choking someone to death with a Pan on.
