Datejust II Bezel Question

Hey Everyone,

First post here, so thanks for having me.

I have searched the active threads and a bunch of archived ones via google and I can't find a concrete answer to these questions so here goes.

I just purchased a Datejust II from an AD. I want to change the bezel, to one with diamonds. I know there are no official diamond bezels for my model, but there are some nice aftermarket ones from reputable jewelers.

From what I can gather, changing the bezel won't void the warranty, but others are saying it does. My main question is, if I change it myself, does Rolex have a way to tell that it was changed (if I put the original one back on, obviously). Just want to make sure in case it needs service down the road. I have changed Rolex bezels with ease on my own in the past, but they have all been out of warranty anyways.

Thanks so much for the help

As far as I know from speaking to multiple AD's, if you change out the bezel and send it in to get it serviced, they will confiscate the bezel and replace it with the original and will charge you for it. So it won't void the warranty, but they will throw away your bezel and replace it with the original piece. I don't believe Rolex will have a way of telling that the bezel has been taken off and put back on.

Won't void warranty, but please keep the original bezel if you want to service your watch in the future.
