Your opinions please
Hello everyone :)
I was just wanting your opinion on wearing a Rolex such as the Subc 116610ln to hill walks. Going through light weight rock climbing, steep muddy hills/steps, streams and following clustered trails. Would you personally think it would a good idea to wear such a watch? I'm not afraid to scratch the bracelet or anything it is my first rolex and want to make sure it can take the abuse. Don't worry about it, it'll stand up to just about anything you throw at it. If you are concerned about scraping up the bracelet while scaling some rocks, you could always swap out it out for NATO strap. Otherwise, just let the little scratches and scrapes accumulate--they will become a part of YOUR history with the watch. Enjoy it!

Looks like an everyday event to me, so why not live it without needless worry to a timepiece on your arm.
There's far more to be concerned about in our daily struggles....

Thanks for your input guys! Definitely tougher than my shoes haha and some certain nato strap do look good with the sub I must admit😊

I wouldn't.
Sure a Rolex can take it but one good slip or slide and you could really scrape and gouge up the case or bracelet or crystal on a rock or whatever. I don't mean a light scratch but a real deep "oh shi*" type gouge or deep scratch or dent. Why risk it? Sure it could be polished but why risk taking all the steel off? It is not a fashion show out there. If you don't mind wearing it if it gets all gouged up then no problem. But why not just wear a cheap timex or casio? Thats what they are for. I guess I am saying it may not be worth pressing your luck to wear it just because it can take it. |

The main danger is constantly admiring your watch while traversing slippery and rocky terrain. More likely to injure yourself than your watch.

The sweat band is actually a good idea... I wear mine and I'm mindful but not worrisome.

Wear it and enjoy it. If you ever end up in an unfortunate situation, you'll be in the hospital and the watch will have some scratches. Later, the scratches become part of the story when you pass the watch to one of your kids.
I have my father's (well used) submariner and I refuse to polish it and make it look like new. |

Looks like good times to me; it's been a while since I've seen highlands. I'd wear your watch; it was designed to take it. If you can't stand the thought of scratching it then wear another. Scratches won't ruin the watch but they do happen. But then again they can happen anywhere.
