Daytona's in the Wild!!

Long time reader, first time posting. Anyway, what got me to post was my recent trip to Grand Cayman. I went to a small restaurant there called Edoardos, a little Italian place. I remember reading a few threads here about actually seeing SS Daytona's in the wild, and while I was in the restaurant there were 3 SS white dial Daytona's all at the restaurant. I wore mine, the gentlemen who sat my wife and I (one of the owners), and the guy at the table next to me (a local shop owner in Grand Cayman) were all wearing one. The funny thing is that each of us noticed the others watch. Sorry for the long post, but this doesn't happen every day, since there were only 20-30 people total in the restaurant at that time.

FYI...great collection there at Kirk Freeports (local AD). I saw at least 6 sub LV's at there various stores, including 2 at the tiny airport store. This is actually a great store because they are AD's for almost all brands ( Panerai, ROlex, Omega, IWC, Zenith...), so it is a great way to compare watches.

I hardly ever see a Daytona at all.........and when I do, it's usually the gold version..

Outside of my own, I can't recall the last time I saw a SS model outside a Dealers store..

Cool, and yea not common to see those together like that.

The AD you mentioned sounds ideal, having all those brands to make the shoping process easier, or harder if you can not decide

What a story. Welcome aboard to the forum. I don't think I have ever seen a SS Daytona in the wild and I live near Chicago.

Kirk Freeport is such an awesome AD. Bought a Panerai from them last winter.

Rolex's were at least 10% off retail. Including sport models.

Welcome to TURF. I have never seen a Daytona in the flesh, other than in an AD's showcase. And mine :)

Welcome aboard! You have entered into the finest and most fun Rolex forum in the world!

Was out last Friday with two mates. Amongst us we had on my SS White Dial Daytona, another Mates's SS Skinny Hands Zenith Black Dial Daytona and finally another close friend's SS Black Dial Dayona. Out for what turned out to be goood night!

We all laughed at noticing our Rolexes while trying to get a drink at the bar. We all had our elbows up sitting on the bar with our wrists exposed. Akas three perfect and beautiful SS Daytonas appeared with money in our hands to get the barrtender's attention.

Again I wish a had a camera. Maybe next time.

Welcome to TRF!

Awesome (and rare) Rolex spotting!

I've only seen ONE single SS Daytona (116520) in the wild before.

This post took me forever to write as is the one I am typing now.

I took a Sonata (sleeping pill) and the screen looks like it is melting off the computer and its like the words are coming off the page jumping out at me . Hard to type. What a weird experience.

Since I have been interested I have seen a couple of dozen SS Daytonas. Despite being sought after they are very popular and "out there" in pretty large numbers.

I have never seen another one of these in the flesh though, proper rare.

The only one I have seen in the wild again was a white dial SS Daytona. That was in May of this year at the Grand Hyatt Hotel 42nd street New York.

Immediately knew I needed to own the watch again!!! There is something about the daytona when you don't have it in your collection, awesome!!
