How does the 15400 Wear compared to a Rolex Datejust II
Hello
I am very interested in acquiring a 15400 and was wondering how it wears size and confortwise compared to a 41mm Rolex Datejust 2. If you own both I would appreciate if you could post side by side pics. Thank you André |

I think the 400 wears bigger than the DJ2 as the dial is quite wide, ROs generally wear bigger than their Rolex counterparts due to the squarer lugs/case.

The comparison is huge. I was under the same situation. I went with the DJ II for my everyday watch. The 15400 was a little to heavy and I already had a panerai so I didn't need another really big watch. Still going to get the 15400 but not yet.

I own a 15400, and owned a DJII. I found the DJII with a WG Bezel wore heavier. Also, the DJII lugs stick straight out, and the case back isn't flat, so I wasn't a fan of how it sits on the wrist - it just never seemed centered.
Love the 15400. The lugs come down at an angle, so it hugs the wrist nicely (assuming you don't have a small wrist). You also cannot even compare the finishing on the AP and the Rolex - especially the bracelet; it just isn't a fair fight. I find the 15400 has a more attractive dial, it has fantastic symmetry, and the tappestrie dial is a thing of beauty. The case is also thinner, so it fits under a shirt better. I'm also a big fan of the non chunky clasp of the AP. And one more benefit, in my opinion, no cyclops! Their prices don't really make them comparable though. The DJII is a great watch, but the AP has a much higher price tag, but for a reason

I feel the 15400 wears a touch larger but remains thinner and more comfortable as such. Really hugs the wrist if you have a 7" wrist give or take.

I've sent you a PM comparisons of a DD2 and 15400. I have a small collection of a DD2, 15400, 5990 and a SubC. Taking the Patek aside the 15400 is the one watch that you can sit and look at for hours, the way it catches the light is like nothing else on the market and the whole watch just pops. Having went through the whole big watch thing the 15400 is now the largest watch I wear and if given the choice between that and a DJ2 it's an absolute no brainer. Yes it wears slightly larger but it's super comfortable and as long as your not one of the many on here that have a physiological melt down if they find a hairline scratch it is for me one of the nicest watches you could ever own

Hello All
Thank you very much for all the replies. The more I see the 15400, the more I feel it right one to get. I am still debating if I should go for the black or blue dial. Cheers André |

The 15400 wears larger. Weight wise I think they are about the same.
Here's the side by side pic as requested. Hope it helps. |

Lovely pics Ben OP, I once owned a 15400 and as JJ stated the craftsmanship of the AP is subjectively better than the DJ2... With that said I sold my 15400 and have 2 different AP's at the moment, however, there is something about the text "Automatic" on the dial that really annoys me with AP watches, sometimes I overlook it, however, for the most part it pushed me over the edge to sell... The DJ2 by far is not a perfect watch as well, I currently own a TT one, however, for some reason something also seems missing on the watch... maybe I am just becoming jaded with watches overall...

I have owned both and to me although the size is somewhat close, the DJii always seemed out of proportions. Maybe it was that the dial is so large compared to the bezel and the case. The 15400 feels more “right”.
