FS: Rolex Date ref. 1500 1968 Cotton Bowl Heavy Patina Dial

Up for sale is a very unique example of the classic ref. 1500 Rolex Date (1.2M Serial #). This watch is one of a few pieces issued to commemorate the 1968 Cotton Bowl Classic where the Texas A&M Aggies defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide. The case back has a faint engraving of the name of a player who played Offensive Tackle for the Aggies during this game.

Details:

Dial: The original silver logo dial has turned to a unique champagne hue.

Case: Stainless steel case is good condition with minor scratches from use. Reference and serial numbers are clearly visible between the lugs.

Strap: The watch comes fitted with an original US Made Jubilee bracelet with 19 links and normal stretch from use.

Additional: The watch currently runs but service history is unknown. No other accessories are included with the watch.

Asking $2,950 by wire (or check deposited to my account) shipped and insured within the US or face to face in the Los Angeles area. International shipping available at an additional cost.

Returns only accepted within 3 days of receipt if item is not as described and is returned in the same exact condition as it was originally sold. Refunds will be considered upon a full inspection and will amount to the purchase price minus shipping and handling costs.
