Ultimate three handed dress watch?
Trying to chose between these three. Need a precious metal dress watch in my collection ( Speedmaster professional, non date sub, Reverso , and Blue Nautilus)
Like the idea of a rose gold / gold watch as all the others are steel. Options are Patek 5296 Lange 1815 Vacheron Patrimony All three have amazing looks and a beautiful movement! Decisions decisions ... Any tips on these? Any other watch that I should be considering? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

For a pure gold dress watch I prefer the Saxonia.

I wouldn't argue that the Saxonia is a great dress watch, and probably more comparable to the other two references cited, but I'd go with the 1815 regardless.

Take your pick. All three are fantastic. The VC in particular is really lovely on the wrist and a bit cheaper than the other two.

for me, neither arabic numerals nor a date function feel right to me when it comes to a dress watch.
the saxonia looks great as does the jlc above.

Since you already have a PP I would go ALS, although that VC is the best watch in their lineup (to me)
Saxonia would be better as a dress watch than 1815, but you really can't go wrong,

I had the 1815 in WG and it was spectacularly beautiful. Problem was that I didn't particularly need a dress watch. My 5711 has that covered Imho as I don't attend many high brow events where I feel the need for a true time only dress piece and black tie suggests not to wear one anyways. I guess I mean to say I love sports watches and thought I needed a dress watch...I was wrong. Make sure you aren't me 6 months ago I choose the 1815 fwiw |

Lange for me. I love the 1815 series, but I might agree that the Saxonia is more "dressy", but I'd still get the 1815

VC Patrimony: Right size, manuel wound movement, no date, great looking case and dial.

If it's purely a dresswatch I'd go with a slim white gold watch, but as you probably want to wear this more often I'd go for the 1815.
The Lange has lot's of wrist presence and has one of the best finished movements in the business. |

PP or a JLC. Love the Lange but don't think the numerals are dressy.

What about one of these: http://www.montblanc.com/en-gb/colle...ltra-slim.html
Gorgeous and incredible value for money. I couldn't resist the steel version. |

I'm in the 1815 camp too. More versatile and equally as stunning. Germans are at the top of the game, IMO

VC Patrimony or Traditionnelle.
But I would reserve the word "ultimate" for the Ultra Thin calibre 1731 which unfortunately is out of most people's reach. |

Another good point on the need for dress watches in general ... Another consideration are the many beautiful vintage offerings at reasonable prices that meet the occasional use dress watch, challenge being to find one you like in a modern size.
