Springbar does not compress....

I recently bought a vintage Rolex Date to give as a gift and the springbar used to adjust the bracelet length on the clasp does not compress. I have tried over and over on both sides and the bar is wedged in and I can't figure out how to get it out or be able to adjust the length of the bracelet on the clasp....any suggestions?

They get old and they can get debris in the tube; just take it to any competent watchmaker and they can either fix it or replace it with a new one...

Shouldn't be a big deal or expensive to accomplish.

Try pushing up and down rapidly on a hard surface. Probably best to get news ones though as they do wear out
