Please help me decide on my first PAM

Hi there!

After months of research Ive narrowed down my first Panerai purchase to the following:

PAM 233 - Its a classic. No need to explain why I like it.

PAM 533 - I love the brown dial, although its not domed like the 233 (I love the dome face).

PAM 441 - I love the ceramic and all-black look.

PAM 372 or 560 - Both are awesome, timeless. But I keep going back to the dome of the 233.

Couple of questions for the experts:
1. As far as the in-house movements are concerned, which one of the above has the best / newest movements? Which one would you recommend based solely on the movement?

2. Im about 80% sure on the 233. But based on the choices above, which one would you choose and why?

3. Any other PAMs I should consider, based on my choices above?

THANKS so much for the help! I really cant decide which one to get and Im going nuts here.

Cheers!
f.

Why fight it? Can't go wrong with the 233.

Nice! Quite a few votes for the 233. And for good reason. A 233 with a brown / tan leather strap looks timeless. Thanks for the recommendations so far! :-)

I would get the 372 or the 233 a close second.

I'd say the 233 (especially since that seems to be calling your name). I guess it depends also on your budget and if you can pull off a 47mm watch. If you can, the 372 can be found at great prices pre-owned. I wouldn't rule out the 560. Out of the ones you mentioned, the 560 would probably be intriguing to me as I prefer the smaller case style as opposed the the 50s case.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Ive narrowed it down to the 233 and 372. Of course Id love to have both in the collection, and might eventually. It all starts with that first Panerai. ;-)

Of those listed, the 233, although I would pick a 422 myself.

I would vote 233, and the size is great for your first Panerai. Quick change for straps is also helpful as you get in the strap game.

Agreed. I cant wait to pair it with a military green canvas and brown leather straps. Even Panerai sells them thru their website now. :-)

I have a 233 as my only Panerai. I prefer the case and dome on the 233 to the 372, and probably the size too, especially for your first PAM, depends what size watch you are coming from though maybe.

Personally, I am a big fan of my PAM328. Comes with the steel bracelet but can go to any number of leather/nylon straps.

Same here - 422. 372 is nice but I prefer the domed sapphire to the dome plexi. As big as the plexi is, it's going to get scraped up.

Thanks for all the 422 recommendations. I admit it was not on my radar. I agree Im not a fan of the plexi and generally prefer the domed dial so 422 is def a good possibility.

I've owned a few, and the best one yet has been the 000.

I like a couple that are 47mm, but those are way to big for me.

Sounds like you made your choice, 233. P2002 is set modern. Newest does not mean much. Rather go with proven one. P2002 or P3000 is proven track for Panerai in decade. Go with 233 and you will enjoy much of functions and modern icon look

For your support, my morning shot from SJC to DFW. After 8 days still strong (it's about 9+ days) :)
