Do I need to update appraisal? Help Id?
I have a vintage ladies Rolex inherited by my wife. It's a 98469 14kt. White gold and diamond 17 jewel with a 14kt. White gold and diamond link bracelet.
The last appraisal we found was done 1-8-93, valued it at $2500 fo insurance. Have the prices changed very much or is that pretty accurate still? Also were these types of watches have names or were they identified by number? Thanks for your help. Brian |

Insurance appraisals are almost always for replacement value and not market value.
Market value is likely much less, replacement value could be more..

The name would generally be "Cocktail watch", i don't think they had individual names or refs back then. That seems a fair assessment. You can pick these up for $2000-3000 retail.

Thanks for your replys. No sense in spending extra money to update if the value is about the same. Thanks.
