ROO Bracelet feedback

Hi, In March I head to Clearwater and want to get either a gator strap and deployant clasp or bracelet for my 15710. I'm leaning towards the bracelet. Just looking for people post purchase feedback. Does anyone regret the purchase? Is the weight over time too much? etc. Post pics if you like!

It's not that heavy, and I come from a Rolex GMT Master on jubilee.
The bracelet is really, really comfortable. Sits better on me than my old 15300.
But!
The buttons for opening the clasp really cuts into my wrist. I had it tight before and it was good, but I like my watch loose and now it really cuts in.

I've done this and do not regret it at all. In fact, I love it. It feels totally comfortable on my wrist, and I do not have any issues like the clasp digging into my skin as Thunderbird mentioned. However, the overall package becomes very heavy, not that there is anything wrong with that, but it will become a personal preference issue.

I like that I have both the strap and the bracelet.

I can only speak from experience with ROO references on bracelet. It is very comfortable and extremely well made. With that said I still prefer deployant over bracelet and I am not a big fan of tang or pin buckle watches. I find the bracelet a little heavy and hard to get a perfect fitment. Found that the heavy combination and adjustment difficulties would mark up my wrist bone pretty good.

It makes it look good, but in my case the bracelet made the watch so heavy that I couldn't get it "just right" anymore on my wrist. It ultimately made me sell the whole thing.

And wouldn't you know it, now I'm hunting a SS Diver again.

What is the total weight of a Diver or ROO with a steel bracelet?
Preferably in grams as I come from Europe ;-)))

I regularly change my Diver from the Rubber with tang buckle to the Hornback (Safari) strap with 20mm Deployant to the SS Bracelet. Very, very different look and feel each one of them. The SS bracelet IS very heavy. You can't forget you have your watch on, but still very comfortable. I would say that this is the most versatile look, as you can swim with it, use it with a suit or wear it with jeans.

Now, the Hornback strap is a thing of beauty. I love the way the Diver looks with the strap. Wearing it with a suit and brown shoes/belt looks extremely nice. Feels very light and comfortable. You almost forget you have it on (compared with the bracelet). BUT you have to be careful with water not to damage/stain the strap. In a casual setting it looks killer too.

The regular Rubber strap is the lightest setting, and is 100% casual. It makes the Diver look like a tool watch for diving, which will make this a very casual look.

In any case, the possibility of changing the look and feel of this watch so much, so easily, is what I love about it. Not as easy as Panerai, but easy enough. Just make sure you get a GOOD (Bergeon or nothing) set of watchmaker screwdrivers to change the straps, or you will ruin the screws. And remember to put masking tape on the watch case where the screw is, before using the screwdriver to avoid any possible scratches. The whole process will take less than 3 minutes. Perhaps 5 the first time you do it.

BTW, when you remove the screws from the case the first time, you may not know this, but THERE IS A METAL ROD in between the screws, that you can't see, but that you need to push out before you can remove the metal plots that hold the rubber strap. You can use a regular pin or needle to push the little rod out. The first time I removed the screws I kept pulling on the rubber strap trying to get the plots off the watch and wondered what the heck was wrong... until I realized there was still something holding the plots in place.

Gentleman, thank you very much for your experiences with the ROO bracelet. They were exactly what I was looking for. I haven't changed the strap on my diver but whether I go with the bracelet or the new style deployant is still up in the air. I'm leaning towards the bracelet but I'd like to have a back up for when it starts to feel too heavy like a gator strap with the 22mm deployant. Anyway, thanks again!

I have a good relationship with a very reputable AD who gave me below.
stock 15710 - 170 grams
diver on bracelet - 238 grams
new safari on bracelet - 232 grams

A well known watch dealer gave me these weights. Both sets were weighed specifically because I asked. So they went with the watches to electronic scales they had. So take your pic. I trust the first AD but I got both so here they are.
15703 - 166grams
new safari - 154 grams
diver on bracelet - 287 grams
safari on bracelet - 275 grams

I could see those sharp corners getting smooshed by Coral / rocks etc. 😆

Looks awesome on bracelet but I go for light watches, plan to get back my Patek 5712 and maybe a 5167R, can't stand when a watch is too heavy, comfort is very important to me and I can't find a heavy watch comfortable, was hesitating between the 5167R and Datograph 39mm but as much as the Dato is cool I prefer lightweight watches, so much nicer IMO

I have my safari on bracelet, and 275 sounds like a lot!
I haven't weighed mine, as said, I'm coming from 36-40mm Rolexen and although the AP is heavy, it's not too much. It's good!
Unfortinetly I might be selling mine soon. Service costs are beyond my comfort zone...

I have the SS bracelet for my diver, I use it most often over the rubber as it really dresses up the diver, it looks amazing and can been worn with a suit. The workmanship is beautiful and the quality is superb. My only major gripe, for whatever reason, this bracelet pulls hair on my wrist like not other. I can't get used to the hair grabbing, my Rolex watches never give me this problem. Otherwise, it is stunning to look at.
